Annual Trekking Expedition of Invincible NGO is to famous “Valley of Flowers” in Uttarakhand.  Valley of Flowers  is specially planned to project the young students into the less explored field of trekking and adventure.

The valley is located in Chamoli, Garhwal close to Nanda Devi National Park and the Holy Temple of Badrinath. It is bout 365 kilometers far from Haridhwar. The altitude of the place varies from 10,600 ft to 22,200 ft.

Till the May, the valley remains covered with snow. The best time to visit here is in the months of July and August after the snow has melted. That's when the weather is pleasant and the flowers are also in their full bloom of about 550 species in the valley.

The valley is bounded by snow covered peaks from all sides and an area of 8,950 hectares here was declared as National park in September 1982 and later was added to the list of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in July 2005. Valley is significant because of the rich diversified flora it has in its bounds. The valley of flowers is an alpine valley, and has been formed by retreating glaciers whose periodic advances and retreat pulverized hard rocks, resulting in a U-shaped valley.

Valley of Flowers

The valley is highly spectacular because it has a wonderful combination of snow covered mountains, frequent water falls and lush green valley full with flower bad on the both side of flowing river.

The gentle cool breeze and musical sound of the streams and water falls seem like heaven on the earth. The movement of the clouds are also a charm for visitors and hence the valley has become one of the most beautiful treks of the world. In many places, wire hanging bridges are formed to cross the river. As per Indian Sculptures & Mythology, God Hanuman had taken some medical plants from this valley only. So it has historic importance.

The diversity in flowers is amazing here. Mostly all the natural colors and shapes are found. The valley seems like a painted sheet of the almighty during July and August. Amongst them, some are rare high altitude flowers.

Hemkund Sahib

Hemkund Sahib, is a mesmeric lake located at an altitude of 14,700 ft. A wonderful Gurudwara and Temple are here.
