Mount Abu is a popular hill station in the Aravalli Range in Sirohi district of Rajasthan state. Mount Abu is located at the altitude of 1220 meters from sea level and hence is an attractive hill station of people from Gujarat as well as Rajasthan. The highest peak on the India’s oldest mountain range – ‘Aravalli Mountain range’ is Guru Shikhar at 1,722 m (5,650 ft) above sea level which is situated near Mount Abu. The ancient name of Mount Abu is Arbudaanchal and the region is said to be the original abode of the famous Gurjars and to be astablished in the 6th Centuary. Mount Abu is enriched with varieties of both flora and fauna. Wild Life includes a large number of Leopards, Sloth Bear, Shambhar, Hyaenas, Wild boar, etc. Delwara Jain Temples are the best architectural and sculptural work. The carvings done here are the most beautiful and worth seeing. The mountain forms a distinct rocky plateau 22 km long by 9 km wide and is having the best rock patches for rock climbing.
